⭐️MISS LAURENS STAR OF THE WEEK ⭐️ Hope was Saturdays choice in their funky dance class! Their routine is coming on nicely! Hope is a talented dancer, one we would love to progress in January as Hope is showing lots of promise! Amelia is having great week at STARLIGHTER and it’s only Tuesday! 😆 she was star of the class for her positive attitude in class, really working hard! You know at this time of year I always find tough for the kids (and adults 😳😫) there’s such a build up to Christmas these days, there’s parties, performances everywhere you turn and Amelia can firmly put her hand up and say there’s a lot going on right now…however I’ve just watched this girl find all her strength to smash her Panto rehearsal tonight (another extra she’s doing) well done darling - we’re so excited to watch you all this Christmas! ⭐️ Darcie was the star of the week in Acro, for her cartwheels, Miss Lauren set her a task to take home with her, (it was to take her hands off earlier) she came back this week and smashed it, I have to agree with this, Darcie listens to her teacher so well and she goes home and does exactly what we’ve asked, she did the same in LAMDA last week! Great attitude to have Darcie! Oscar another one of our Panto stars who will be performing over Christmas in Alice in Wonderland. Miss Lauren is so impressed with how much Oscar has matured over the last term, his over all classroom behaviour, how he applies himself, listens to the teacher and gives 100% every single time! ⭐️STAR OF LAMDA SATURDAY ⭐️ Ruby continues to shine in LAMDA, she’s very comfortable now performing in front of her class mates, I would like to see you perform in front of some unfamiliar faces next! ⭐️STAR’s OF FRIDAY PRE-SCHOOL BALLET ⭐️ Another super week for my dancing superstars, they really are such a great group, the energy in the room (and noise 😳🤣😝) is unbelievable - sets you up for the weekend 🤣👍🏻 Yesterday we had Hiedi back in class after a week off, Hiedi started off brilliantly and clearly enjoys the warm up routine (we all do 🤣) and for the first time since rejoining sustained some focus in her Tap work, she allowed me to work with her and tried really hard with her Baby Shark and shuffles routines! This is a great improvement for this gorgeous dancer, well done Hiedi! And Romy was the star of the week for Ballet yesterday, Romy is another gorgeous little girl who has recently joined us, she’s a very clever little dancer who likes to get stuck in, can mirror the teacher well and is such a good class mate to her little buddy Lottie. ⭐️MISS SARAH’s STAR’s OF THE WEEK ⭐️ Thank you to Miss Sarah for another great week with the Wednesday group! They love their teacher and their dance! Isabelle got star of the class again this week…that’s a couple of times I believe so far this term…must be working hard Isabelle! Well Miss sarah said it’s because you have made a huge progress with your springs in first position and your shuffles! Nice to see you thriving little lady! And the gorgeous little pocket rocket Adora got the star of the class this week, another girl I’ve had the pleasure of teaching and watching her progress into Miss Sarah’s class! ⭐️TONIGHTS STAR OF THE CLASSES ⭐️ Our performing arts students were in this evening, devising and learning some festive poems for our Christmas celebration class at the end of term! They worked really hard and it was lovely watching Orlaith get stuck in, she didn’t want to say a line in the first poem they worked on however with a little encouragement she took to her new poem with energy! Thank you for challenging yourself tonight ⭐️ Maya, Maya, Maya……WOW! Maya is in our LAMDA group on a Thursday 6:30pm - 7pm, it’s taken me a good term to get Maya to trust me, believe everything will be ok and that she can do this! And tonight everyone she SMASHED IT! She stood up in front of her class mates and performed the whole poem word perfect! This is a huge step for Maya and I cannot tell you how proud I am to be your teacher tonight! Not once have I pushed Maya into anything she doesn’t want to do, she’s been in control the whole time and she’s naturally at a point where she feels confident to do this, afterwards her dad said ‘how was it?’ She said simply ‘it was good’! Often we see so many dancers who dance beautifully but a performance isn’t just about the technique, a whole performance is about lots of things and personality being a major factor…here at STARLIGHTER we try and nurture stage presence from them being Bella’s age so hopefully by the time their teenagers they can boss that stage with all the key ingredients to make a confident performer! ⭐️SATURDAYS ⭐️’s of the week ⭐️ We were back at our Saturday school yesterday and we love it! Paloma was the star of the class for her beautiful Springs in first position, her concentration and focus in class has really come on, Paloma has been having private lessons with Miss Sarah for a few weeks now and this is really evident in her group class. Well done Paloma, what a beautiful Ballerina you are ⭐️ Peyton…..this little dancer has danced with us since nursery, she’s an absolute whirlwind, a big character of this class and her personality certainly shines through her dance, she dances so elegantly, she’s had time off recently with an injury but remembered her Ballet & Modern routines, her Modern shapes are enchanting to watch. Keep going Peyton, you’re becoming quite the little dancer 👏🏻 Elodie was the star of the class in Performing Arts, Elodie said ‘I knew it was going to me’ 🤣😁 which tells me she knows how hard she tried and she did. Elodie LOVES the musical Annie and we are working super hard on a scene which is nearly ready for our festive showback for our parents. Elodie is such a sweet girl, always tried really hard in her Ballet and Performing Arts class. Paige blew me away with our new poem STANDING ON A CHAIR, she confidently performed in front of the class and gave everything she had which made the performance really special! Our next exams are in March 2025 and I can feel some more great results coming our way 👀⭐️ And Jessie got star of the class for her Dance and Acro with Miss Lauren. Jessie is a confident 🤪 all rounder. Her dance, Acro and Performing Arts is strong, one thing she’s not great at is…listening 😜😆 (Jessie is my daughter so I can say these things 😬) Jessie is a natural leader (not sure who she takes after) but when we’re natural leaders it can come across as a bit overwhelming because we haven’t developed the skills to listen to others, stay quiet and listen yet 🫣, however Miss Lauren was quick to announce how impressed she was with her listening skills yesterday which made me proud 🥹 she’s growing all the time this little girl of mine 😘 A great Saturday with some brilliant performances ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This little girl was not in the mood for dancing last Friday…..I just mentioned the word CONSISTENCY to mum a few times and look who turned up and had the most amazing lesson….we saw a massive change in Rosie this week…👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 We danced in our Pj’s for Children In Need and we had some generous donations for the charity! ⭐️MISS SARAH’s STARS OF THE WEEK ⭐️ Awww look at them all in their PJ’s - love it! Isabelle our gorgeous Ballerina has been coming to us for a long time now, starting in my morning classes and progressing onto Miss Sarah’s after school class. Isabelle is the perfect Ballerina, with beautiful long legs. Isabelle wasn’t feeling great at the start of the session however she soon changed her mind, especially in Miss Sarah’s Christmas dance, she worked really hard. I love star of the week because the children are so interested and eager to learn who has got it at the end of the session, showing they have developed this sense of care and pride in their work, all great skills! BUT I love it more when my own little lad gets it 🤣💙😘 he’s been talking about wanting to get it for weeks, saying ‘mummy I don’t run around’ 🤣🤣👍🏻 well great job son! But how clever that he knows that running around doesn’t warrant rewards! Miss Sarah said you gave 110% last night - so you must have really wanted it 🤣🤣😜 Mabel also achieved star of the class, Mabel is another STARLIGHTER who has come through various classes, she was a regular at my toddler classes moving to Saturday classes and now has settled with Miss Sarah on a Wednesday, I love how families really stick with us, it’s a huge compliment! Mabel loves her class and class mates and always has a lovely smile for everyone, Miss Sarah said Mabel has made huge progress over the last few weeks which is clear to see in her dance. We have seen Nova grow from our sensory classes though to toddler discos, stay and plays and now our Ballet & Tap! It makes my heart so warm that families continue their journey with me like Nova, thank you guys, it means a lot! However not only that Nova is becoming more and more independent in classes as the weeks go by, Nova can comfortably put her feet in first, remember where and when to stand in her routines, this sometimes needs encouragement by mum/grandma/dad however lately she’s finding her feet and becoming more and more confident, which was clear today when she came out and demonstrated her FLAP in front of the other dancers (pronounced F-Lap)! ⭐️MEET JESS ⭐️ Good afternoon Babies!!! Some of you will have met the gorgeous Jess in our classes over the last two weeks and some will meet her in the next few weeks on our Christmas specials! ⭐️SATURDAYS STAR OF THE CLASS ⭐️ We absolutely love our Saturday school and the little stars who attend every week! We start our morning with private lessons and both Paloma and Jessie are working really hard on their routines, we can’t wait to see them on the big stage! Then we have our Reception class which is just adorable to watch! Miss Sarah’s star of the week is Mila, Mila is working really hard every week says Miss Sarah, she’s got an infectious smile and is starting to squeeze her toes beautifully. Miss Sarah also teaches our Year 1 Ballerinas who spend 20 minutes on Ballet, 20 on Tap and 20 on Modern. The gorgeous Alice was star of the week, Alice is delightful to teach, always listening super hard to her teacher and her dance memory is getting stronger and stronger! Well done Alice ⭐️ We then have a class full of characters 🤣🤣😆😆 The Performing Arts students taught by myself 😅😜 we have so much fun every single week, we started this week off with THE DEADLY HANDSHAKE which the kids loved trying to work out who had it! Piper was 100% the star of the week for me, she started her morning off a little nervous 😬 however she pulled it round and threw everything she had into her classes, she’s a gorgeous little dancer I might add and really stands out on the stage - one to watch 🧐 We then have our Saturday LAMDA kids and we are learning a new poem about standing on a chair and how mum gets cross 🤣🤣😜 they love taking the (trying to find a nice word….) MICk out of Mum 🤣🤣 Little Gracie really enjoyed this poem and spoke out in class for the first time so beautifully and confidently which was gorgeous to watch! Miss Lauren then joins the team for our Saturday Cheer and Acro class, Ave being her choice this week, this girl is simply gorgeous! She’s so kind to all her class mates and works really hard in all her classes at STARLIGHTER, Miss Lauren says she’s simply a pleasure! We finish our Saturday with a private lesson for Miss Darcie…I managed to see Darcies routine and was really impressed with dance personality alongside some impressive timings! The girls Amelia and Aniyah they knuckled down and cracked on with their line learning all session, line learning is a process we simply have to go through whether we like it or not! And for LAMDA it’s really important as you do get marked on accuracy which could make the difference between a merit and distinction, however they did not moan once! Well done girls, keep working hard, I would like to see this at the Christmas showback! And then we have Lola what a journey this girl has been on with STARLIGHTER but one I take great pleasure in watching, Lola is a big character 🤔😜 but let me tell you she’s not a daft one and certainly knows how to perform when she needs to! ⭐️⭐️Miss Sarah’s stars of the week! ⭐️⭐️ Rosie had a fantastic first session back, Rosie had some brilliant moments throughout the session tonight, Rosie tried really hard to focus throughout which was just gorgeous to see! She also had some beautiful times skips and pointy toes! Great effort Rosie ⭐️👏🏻 Stevie achieved star of the week for her session in Acro and Musical theatre, a class the kids are really enjoying! FREE TO COLLECT The big man is redigning our playroom for Christmas and we would like to get rid of this sofa bed. It does have a few marks on it…you know what young children are like 🤣🧐 but could easily cover or get it off (glue, felt tip type of marks) It’s never been slept on as our teenager prefers to sleep on our beautiful sofas with all her mates instead 🤦‍♀️🤪 If anyone is wanting it they will need to collect and transport themselves!

Class fees are due for the term ahead and as always can be paid to the STARLIGHTER account. Where possible we do try and be as adaptable for everyone and their circumstances however like everyone else STARLIGHTER does have bills and wages to pay. Therefore could I ask where possible that class fees are paid at the start of of the term for the term ahead. I seem to spend my days chasing fees 🤪 when ideally I would like to spend more time planning on my admin days, making and creating more opportunities for all our wonderful students. ‘Get off your arse and show me your Burlesque’ - my heart was literally pounding watching this yesterday afternoon with some good friends, WOW - the whole cast were insane!!! ⭐️SATURDAY’s STAR OF CLASS ⭐️ Look at our gorgeous Saturday super stars!! The beautiful Miss Bella was the star of Ballet & Tap this week, Bella has been dancing with us since preschool and this term moved into our Year 1 class on a Saturday morning, her confidence has grown massively since moving into her new class, yesterday Bella tried really hard in class and was focussed throughout which can be pretty tough to do at this age!! Great work Bella! In our Year 1 Ballet, Tap & Modern Isabelle won the award for being so brave all lesson, her independence and confidence shone throughout the session which enabled her to do some beautiful dancing! Well, well, well…..Sundae gets the star of the class again for the 2nd week running!!! This week for the Performing Arts class, Miss Sarah loved covering the classes yesterday and was really impressed with how kind Sundae was to one of the new girls who had come along to try the class. Its a big thing for a small person to join a new group but at STARLIGHTER we use our nurture training to overcome any fears children maybe feeling and we have the BEST kids like Sundae who help us to settle new kids quickly! Theo……star of the class in LAMDA this week! Miss Sarah she couldn’t believe Theo’s acting skills and confidence….well believe it Miss Sarah because this lad is going to be very special 👀🧐 he continues to shine through and impresses every week 👏🏻 Layla was the star of the class for Acro and Cheer dance with Miss Lauren. Layla has been attending class for a few weeks now and has settled really well into STARLIGHTER life! Layla tries so hard in class and her love for dance is shining through! Well done Layla. This little lady is an absolute pleasure to have in our classes, after 3 weeks she has made remarkable progress, she sat on her black mat yesterday and showed me her long legs, her good and naughty toes and even suggested what we should put in our couldrons we were stirring! ⭐️LYDIA’s STAR’s OF THE WEEK ⭐️ There is absolutely no way I could have picked one tonight because quite frankly you’re all brilliant! What a lovely night we had preparing and performing for our SHOWBACK to parents! This group continues to go from strength to strength, children there tonight think nothing at all about performing in front of a room full in fact they enjoy it! Looking back 3 years ago…this is remarkable!! There’s children tonight who are new to our school and I bet if you were a complete stranger they would never have guessed who they were! They continue to amaze me, I’m incredibly proud to be your teacher! ⭐️MISS SARAH’s STAR’s of WEDNESDAY ⭐️ Congratulations to these 4 little cuties who picked up a certificate for their great work in Miss Sarah’s classes yesterday! Lily for her beautiful footwork in Ballet, in the words of Miss Sarah ‘that child is one to watch’……awwww I think I agree 🧐👏🏻 Then I’m not sure how this happened however there were 3 Stars of the week in the next class 👀🤣 it does make it impossible to choose when we have such brilliant children! Miss Sarah thoroughly enjoys her Acro & Musical Theatre class and so do the children! It’s such a fun class to be part of! Roman got his award for some excellent listening and focus, Roman really tried last night making Miss Sarah super proud of him! Reyes because she ALWAYS tried super hard, she did her Ballet & Tap class first and then her Musical Theatre & Acro straight after but never complains of being tired or anything, great work little doll ⭐️ And Piper got a certificate which I am delighted about! Sometimes it takes children a few weeks….half a term….a term or even a whole year to settle into their new class, everyone’s journey is different, the secret ingredients are…persistence and patience, Piper we are not even at the end of the first half term and last night you smashed it little lady!! ⭐️MONDAY NIGHT GROUP 1⭐️ I had the pleasure of popping in and watching some of Group1’s work this evening! I was very impressed to see what they have been working on, not only the routine but we are now starting to perform our routines….its not just about the dance or learning routines…we need to perform them! ⭐️SATURDAYS STAR’s OF THE CLASS ⭐️ Congratulations to these STARLIGHTER’s who were the Star of the Week in their classes they attended! Ariella got the award for using her BIG voice in her acting, she’s really becoming quite the character who has a powerful stage voice! Paloma for her Ballet & Tap - Paloma joined in the whole lesson confidently on Saturday and is showing some excellent feet in her positioning work. Jessie for her Year 1 Ballet, Tap & Modern, Miss Becky said she worked really hard on Saturday in the class and demonstrated some great technique. Sundae was the star of the week for Saturdays LAMDA class, this was her 2nd class and she volunteered to perform her poem to the whole class first, that’s incredibly brave of you Sundae so a massive well done! And finally Ruby who got this weeks award for her Street, Cheer & Acro class - Ruby is such a polite little girl who brings her lovely energy and effort with her every lesson. ⭐️SAT MORNING RECEPTION BALLET & TAP ⭐️ I had the pleasure of covering Miss Sarah’s Reception Ballet & Tap class on Saturday morning and I was so impressed with how well these little dolls are coming on! Their classroom discipline is excellent meaning there’s lots of time for dancing! They’re the cutest little Ballerinas and I’m so proud you dance with STARLIGHTER! ⭐️SINGING STARS OF THE WEEK ⭐️ Aww congratulations to Miss Amelia’s Stars of the week! Miss Amelia has been working with some of our students in small groups or private 1:1’s singing session ms and the kids are loving it! Luna was our Wednesdays STAR OF THE WEEK because she’s always ready to learn (not doing cartwheels Jessie 😳🤣) and was engaged throughout the whole session! Well done Luna it’s great to see you enjoying your singing so much! Maya was Thursdays STAR OF THE WEEK - Miss Amelia says that Maya has really grown in confidence since joining LAMDA and small group singing, which I completely agree with! We are all at different stages in our Performing Arts journey and Maya is just at the very start but it’s clear her confidence is growing, her love for the arts is developing, her engagement throughout the warm up was noticeably better this week! ⭐️MISS SARAH’s WEDNESDAY STAR’s ⭐️ Aww congratulations girlies. Miss Sarah was so happy to report how well Freya has really settled into her new Reception and Preschool after school Ballet & Tap class, Freya’s legs and feet were simply beautiful tonight and to say how young you are your listening is incredible! Well done Freya! And Miss Sarah was so proud of Ruby tonight because she worked really hard in the class, putting so much effort into her dance! Fabulous work ladies! ⭐️STAR OF THE WEEK PRESCHOOL DANCE ⭐️ Just look at this little doll 😍 today Daphne was the star of the week in our Wednesday morning Ballet & Tap class! Daphne attends every week at 10am and is already a noticeably great little dancer, she’s extremely flexible, has a beautiful turn out and for her age she is really clever who listens and follows the class really well! I’ll eat my hat if she doesn’t turn out to be a fabulous little dancer! Well done gorgeous girl, keep doing your thing! #wannabeastarlighterdancer?

⭐️MRS SUNDERLAND COMPETITION 2025 ⭐️ Every year STARLIGHTER takes students down to this incredibly friendly competition in the wonderful Huddersfield town hall! There is an opportunity for ALL our students to enter poetry, acting pieces, songs etc that they have worked on in class, in their privates, in LAMDA or at independently at home. Thousands of people attend the competition from all over the country and the whole experience is just priceless for our students! Last year we even bagged some trophies much to my delight 🤩😝 This year we would love to take even more of our talented students or new students who would like some coaching for the competition! Deadline is November 9th to enter so please do get in touch quickly! Entry fees depend on how many categories you enter for but are normally about £9 per section! ⭐️Miss Lauren’s STAR’s of the week! ⭐️ Congratulations to Miss Lauren’s STAR’s of the week! It’s so nice to see so many students working positively in their dance! I’m not surprised Oscar picked up the award watching them kicks on video…very impressive young man! I’ve been really pleased to hear week after week this term how Lola has been working so well in her dance classes, Lola is extremely talented in all 3 disciplines actually not just dance however she is now applying herself so positively in classes…..it will be interesting to see this girl grow ⭐️ Aniyah is growing all the time in her dance, a subject that comes naturally to her, since joining her new group Miss Lauren has seen a massive change in her, Aniyah has risen to the challenge and producing some excellent work, STAR of the week on Monday & Tuesday 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 as teachers it’s our job to remain honest and if a student is picked week after week then so be it, we can’t help it how amazing you are! #wannabeastarlighter?
